Corona SDK Hackathon 2011

This was a phenomenal experience for all of us. Participating in this was great fun for everyone around the world.  Literally. 11 hours of cold hard code started by walking into PariSoma, the innovation loft.
People started setting up and after a few announcements from InMobi and some other judges such as Carlos Icaza, THE GAMES HAVE BEGUN! This was definitely a long and challenging 11 hours, though. Waking up at 8 to get ready and staying up at nine to wrap it up, but that's only on the West Coast of the US! Others had to wake up at many various times and some on the East were surviving a hurricane! Hope they were safe!
I especially enjoyed the live stream that went on. That was fun even when nobody was there broadcasting! The chat was filled with nice people, good sports, and helpful people which was VERY good to have in competitions like these. As much as it was a distraction to the actual competition, I still think that was my favorite part.
Besides that, there were tons of other cool things going on at this time that sometimes Hetal showed us that are in the actual building. While remote developers are out developing, these guys are developing and commuting at the same time. It must be fun to slack off! Here's what it looks like from an overhead view of inside the building.
Pretty nice, huh? That's what I thought! During this time we know what 35 awesome submissions were being made by hundreds of people.Winners:

The Grand Prize Winner
Polar Wing by “Crossman” (remote entry)
App Category Winner
Nap Keeper by J.A. Whye (remote entry)
Game Category Winner
Gold Digger by Greg Lemon and Chris Platz (local entry)
Honorable Mention App Category
ChipMusic Discovery by Kenneth and Jordan (local entry)
Honorable Mention Game Category
Milton’s Last Day by Phuongvo (local entry)

Here's a short summary of my, sad to say, poorly and quickly written blog post about the Corona SDK first ever hackathon. 11 hours of cold hard code, 35 epic entries from around the world, 5 winners, and hundreds of participants.
